How to Find the Scene Area in Unity
In Unity, the Scene area is usually the large main
workspace located in the center of the Unity Editor.
Look for the Scene Tab
Near the top of the main workspace, look for a tab labeled:
The Scene tab is usually located next to the
Game tab.
If You Cannot Find the Scene Window
If the Scene window is missing, you can reopen it from the Unity menu.
Select:
The Scene window should then appear in the Unity Editor.
Main Areas of the Unity Editor

Hierarchy — Usually located on the left side.
It displays all GameObjects in the current Scene.

Scene — Usually the large center workspace.
This is where you build and arrange your game.

Game — Shows what the player will see when the
game is running.

Inspector — Usually located on the right side.
It displays information and components for the selected GameObject.

Project — Usually located near the bottom.
It contains your project files and assets.

Console — Usually located near the bottom.
It displays errors, warnings, and debugging messages.
What Do You Do in the Scene Area?
The Scene area is where you build your game world.
You can use it to:
- Select GameObjects
- Move GameObjects
- Rotate GameObjects
- Resize GameObjects
- Position the Player
- Create platforms
- Place Coins and other collectibles
- Arrange enemies and obstacles
Scene Area in a 2D Project
In a Unity 2D project, the Scene area usually looks like a flat
workspace.
The two most important axes are:
- X Axis — Left and right
- Y Axis — Up and down
The Z axis is usually kept at or near zero for basic 2D objects.
Remember:
The Scene window is where you build your game.
The Game window is where you see what the player sees.
Example
If you are creating your first 2D game, you might place the following
objects in the Scene:
- Player
- Ground
- Coin
- Platforms
- Enemies
You can click each object in the Scene and use the Move, Rotate, and
Scale tools to change it.
