How to Find the Hierarchy Area in Unity

In Unity, the Hierarchy area is usually located on the left side of the Unity Editor.

Main Camera
Ground
Player

Each item represents a GameObject in your Scene.

Hierarchy and Inspector Work Together

A common Unity workflow is:

  1. Select an object in the Hierarchy.
  2. Look at the object's components in the Inspector.
  3. Change the object's position, scale, physics, scripts, or other settings.
Easy way to remember:

Hierarchy = List of objects in the Scene

Inspector = Information about the selected object
