How to Create an MIT Scratch Account

Follow these steps to create an ID (username) and password for MIT Scratch.

1. Go to the Scratch Website

Open your web browser and go to:

https://scratch.mit.edu

2. Select "Join Scratch"

At the top-right corner of the Scratch website, click Join Scratch.

3. Create a Username. See Mr. Cusack for your recommend ID.

Enter a username that you will use to sign in to Scratch.

Important: Write down your Scratch username. You will need it later.

4. Create a Password

Create a password for your Scratch account.

Enter the password a second time to confirm it.

Important: Write down your password somewhere secure. Do not share your password with other students.

5. Continue the Registration

Click Next and answer the questions Scratch asks during account setup.

Scratch may ask for information such as:

Enter an email address that you can access.

Scratch may send a confirmation email to this address. Open the email from Scratch and follow the instructions to confirm your account.

7. Sign In to Scratch

After your account has been created, return to:

https://scratch.mit.edu

Click Sign In.

Username: ______________________________

Password: ______________________________

Then click Sign In.

Keep your Scratch username and password in a safe place.

You will use this account for Scratch programming assignments in class.
